Manifest Destiny

The Race For World Domination

Thank you for your interest in Manifest Destiny: The Race For World Domination. Please be aware that this is not yet a completed game. We have 25 milestones in our design document before we reach our first gold version. The closer we get to the magical number 25, the more playable the game will be. The milestone releases are being provided to garner (from you guys) feedback and bug reports at each stage of the development. If you see something you think is not working right, we'd be very appreciative if you'd drop a quick note describing the bug so it can get fixed for the next version. Keep checking back for new versions of the game. Each new milestone focuses on a particular game play aspect, so there will always be something new and interesting to test.

Instructions for Downloading and Playing Manifest Destiny

  • Left click on the download link above. After a moment, a box should appear asking if you want to open or save the file (the file name should look something like "MDestinyM05.zip". This may take a few seconds while the download manager sets up the process, so be patient. When the box comes up, select Save.
  • You now need to select a directory to save the file in. This is a standard Windows directory crawler, and you should be familiar with how to use it. Once you have selected a place to put the file, hit the "Save" button.
  • The file will begin to download. Wait for it to finish. When you get the "Download Complete" message, hit "Open Folder".
  • You now need to decompress the folder. Select the file you have saved, and right click on it to birng up a menu. In this menu, find the "Extract All.." open and select it.
  • You can accept the default directory the extraction box gives you, or you can navigate to another directory. The directory you select will be the final game directory. When you are satisfied with the directory choice, hit the "Extract" button.
  • You should now have a subdirectory within the directory you selected called MDReleaseM5 (or something similar, depending on which milestone you downloaded). Open this directory.
  • To start the game, double click on the file called MDestiny.exe. The game should begin!
  • If the game does not start, you may need to install DirectX. Please see the link below for obtaining and installing the DirectX Redistributable.

    DirectX

Manifest Destiny requires DirectX version 9.0c. If you play games on your computer, there is a good chance you already have this program installed. Try out the Demo first, and if it will not run, you may have to download the library. You can obtain the DirectX 9.0c system from this page
    DirectX 9.0c Redistributable

    Reporting Bugs

The Manifest Destiny project uses a bug tracker database which can be found here or just use the "report a bug" link on the panel to the right. You will need to take a couple of minutes to set up an account, but don't worry, it's a fairly painless process. Reporting bugs is extrordinarily important, and the bug tracker is the best place to let us know about them, so please use it! If you're not comfortable with the bug tracker system, you can post a note on our forum (also needs an account) or just send an e-mail to rhiler@rjcyberware.com, and I will add the bug to the database.
