    Default Forum Errors

    Hey guys,

Yesterday (May 1st) we had quite a lot of forum downtime. Apparently Apollo (my web hoster) is in the process of doing database updates and the like. So nothing to worry about, we're still running fine. I've been told there may be a bit of downtime this upcoming weekend (May 6 and 7) that could take down the entire site temporarily (and this will also involve a new IP address, so depending on how quickly the internet propigates the address in your area, some people may not be able to get back here as quickly as others).

So don't panic if the site goes down this weekend for a little bit, it's temporary.

BTW: Happy 21st birthday yesterday Shane. I hope your hangover this morning wasn't too bad

Hehe.. wow.. thanks for thinking of it

Sadly I haven't had a chance to do any proper drinking yet. I'm trying not to kill myself before my project has to be handed in this friday. Got myself a Sony DSC-H2 digital camera from my parents. It was only released on April 19th so it's state of the art. About $500 worth of the best hardware you can get.

Talking about my project though, I will post the final version of it somewhere. It'll be about 30mb by the end so I wouldn't host it here for fear of overusing your bandwidth. It's come along quite a bit since you last all saw it. You'll still need the latest version of the JDK (currently 1.5.0) to run it.

    Error 403

I get this error while trying to post messages. The only time I managed to get a message posted was when I only wrote a few lines at a time.

EDIT: It seems this works ok

Okay, I think the issue is fixed.

I discovered it wasn't just you, Shane. It seems to be happening to everyone, just to different extents. I can post a pretty long message before I get the error, others can only post a few lines. I don't know why that is.

After a bit of research, I discovered what appears to be the culprit, and have added the appropriate workaround. I just tested it, and it seems to have fixed the problem. But please do let me know if anyone gets any more 403 errors after today.
