So I know the race blurb is just a silly little thing that doesn't really serve any purpose other than to let the player see their race and leader titles in context, but nevertheless, I thought the old one was pretty bad and needed an update :)
So, tell me what you think of this one, and if you have any suggestions on it. I've already coded it in, but that doesn't mean it can't still be modified. Here it is with blanks.
"By popular decree, _____ was declared _____ today by a plurality of the _____ race. _____ _____ vowed to lead _____ to superpower status in the face of intense global competition. In his inaguration speech, he also pledged _____ would be leaders in global technology."
Here it is again with the blanks filled in with an example race:
"By popular decree, John Smith was declared President today by a plurality of the Human race. President John Smith vowed to lead Humans to superpower status in the face of intense global competition. In his inaguration speech, he also pledged Humans would be leaders in global technology."
Where I italicized it, those two fields will swap if you choose to have your title be a suffix rather than a prefix (so it allows you to do things like "David the Small" or "Alexander the Great"). The bold parts will change depending on the gender you select, obviously.
Okay, so do y'all like it better than the original one (which, if you don't remember it, can be found in the current version of the design doc)? Are there any improvements you would suggest?
