When you reach level 11, you get access to a new hazard zone, Boomtown. This zone is quite beautiful in the extent of the destruction, and a bit awe inspiring to run through, as you find building leaning over on each other, road bridges that have fallen, and bent and twisted railway tracks. As interesting as the zone is, it is also deadly, especially when you first go in at level 11, so be careful out there! It's a long run back from the Steel Canyon hospital.
We start off with the usual exploration and history badges for this zone:
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
| Phalanxer | Exploration | 11 | 50 | Boomtown (-2003, -16, 5181) | From the entrance, go northeast about 200 yards to the large skyscraper with a hole in its side. On the eastern side is a small courtyard. The badge is next to a leaking steam pipe. |
| Destined for Valhalla | Exploration | 11 | 50 | Boomtown (-4097, 351, 2471) | From the entrance, you'll be working your way northeast for a while. When you get close to the coordinates, you will see a building leaning onto another building. You can actually run up the side of the leaning building (you'll slide down slowly if you let go of the forward key). Once on the roof, make your way down to where the two buildings meet. The badge is on a small horizontal roof. |
| Regal | Exploration | 11 | 50 | Boomtown (-448, 42, 2171) | At (-730, 42, 2040) is an entrance to a tunnel. Go inside a ways and you will see the badge marker in the center divider. |
| Vision of Despair | Exploration | 11 | 50 | Boomtown (-753, 1, -594) | In Grenadier Village, there is a dead end ally running east-west between two roadways. At the end of the ally (the eastern end, is a trash dumpster. The badge is to one side of the dumpster. |
Just Said No to Superadine (Part 3 of 5) | History | 11 | 50 | Boomtown (1139, 0, -139) | In Grenadier Village, on the northeast corner of a building that's in fairly good shape. There is a statue of a hero nearby. |
Disciple (Part 2 of 7) | History | 11 | 50 | Boomtown (-1904, 126, 755) | In the southwestern portion of the Cannonade, on the corner of a raised road. |
Disciple (Part 3 of 7) | History | 11 | 50 | Boomtown (-2650, 0, 3055) | On the southern border of Powderkeg, almost directly south of the marker. |
Disciple (Part 4 of 7) | History | 11 | 50 | Boomtown (-685, 269, 3120) | This building in in the border area between Powderkeg and the Fuse. It's a bit tricky, because you need to gain a fair bit of elevation. There is a road that winds up to this area from the south |
Scholar (Part 2 of 5) | History | 11 | 50 | Boomtown (-1688, 0, 4725) | Go to the Fuse marker, and head east through the tunnel. When you come out, make an immediate right. The plaque is mounted on the wall a few yards south. |
While you're in Boomtown, you can grab another villian badge by taking down Babbage. You can also (if you wish) wait to find Babbage during your second Task Force mission. But since he can be found in Boomtown, I'll go ahead and put him here:
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
| Clockstopper | Villian | 11 | 50 | n/a | Earn Clockstopper by defeating Babbage (a Clockwork monster). Babbage can be found during the Synapse Task Force mission (which can be started at level 16) or wandering around in Boomtown in Grennadier Village (against the north wall of the district). Like all other monsters in game, there is a set (and arbitrary) amount of damage you must do to Babbage to earn this badge. Any individual or team that has done at least this amount of damage will earn the badge when Babbage has been defeated. |
If you haven't already, head over to the Hollows (there is a gate from Atlas Park), and start doing the trial. Note that you must have at least started the fourth contact's set of missions by the time you reach level 16, or you may not be able to get this badge. Once you acquire his first mission, it appears as though you can finish the trial without worry no matter how hgih a level you get to.
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
| Transcendant | Task Force | 12 | 50 | The Hollows | Start this trial by talking to David Wincott (you should be sent there by your contacts when you hit level 5). Going through the entire Trial is beyond the scope of this guide, but just keep doing the Hollows missions (there are a total of four contacts there) and you'll eventually get the badge (for the final mission, you need a team of 8 people). The reason I've put this at level 12 is that, while you can start the Trial at level 5, you can't finish it until at least level 12 (the final mission is in the Tunnels, which are level restricted to 12 or higher). |
Skyway City starts becoming safe to travel around in by the time you hit level 13. The exploration and history badges for this district are as follows:
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
| Purifier | Exploration | 13 | 50 | Skyway City (-1086, -16, -7612) | In the far northeastern part of the district, there is a basketball court. In the center of the court is the badge |
| Solace | Exploration | 13 | 50 | Skyway City (2259, -84, -3366) | About 300 yards east of the King's Row entrance. Look for the M.C. Lewis Investments building. The badge is around back in the garbage area. |
| Dauntless | Exploration | 13 | 50 | Skyway City (-704, 0, -1077) | About 500 yards northeast of the Faultline entrance, at the extreme east end of the district section is a courtyard with 4 pools and a hero statue. The badge can be found in front of the statue. |
| Healing Node | Exploration | 13 | 50 | Skyway City (1578, -84, -677) | This one is 400 yards northwest of the Faultline entrance, in front of a big obelisk type thing. |
Scholar (Part 3 of 5) | History | 13 | 50 | Skyway City (1400, -119, -1145) | 475 yards northwest of the Faultline entrance, the plaque is mounted on a wall on the north side of a road. |
Scholar (Part 4 of 5) | History | 13 | 50 | Skyway City (-1469, 16, -2346) | 150 yards west of the Talos Island entrance. There is a rest stop sort of deal with phones and bathrooms and picnic tables. The plaque is to the left of the ATM. |
Disciple (Part 5 of 7) | History | 13 | 50 | Skyway City (737, -126, -3747) | 220 yards west by northwest of The Gruff marker, the plaque is on the sidewalk of a road running east-west. |
Just Said No to Superadine (Part 4 of 5) | History | 13 | 50 | Skyway City (509, 84, -5511) | You're only about 150 yards from the Yellow Line, but 50 of it is straight up. Still, it's not too difficult to figure out how to gain the elevation you need, even without a travel power. |
We've just about finsished off another set of history badges.
Now let's talk about Faultline. Faultline is the most difficult district to navigate in the game. If you have Fly, Super Jump, or Teleport, it's not such a problem, but otherwise it's fairly tricky to get where you want to go. For that reason, I am going to forgo my usual method of bulk listing the exploration and history bages, and give you step by step instructions on the easiest way I can figure out to get all of the badges. Feel free to ignore them if you have a super power that let's you get through Faultline with ease.
The first badge is very easy. It's almost right in front of you when you come into the entrance. Be careful of the Vahzilok.
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
| Apex | Exploration | 14 | 50 | Faultline (278, 57, -2257) | About 250 yards southwest of the entrance is a rest stop, with bathrooms, a phone, and an ATM. The badge is on the roof. |
Now go as far north as you can until you are up against the wall, and follow it west, and continue to follow it south until you reach the next exploration badge.
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
| Newsman | Exploration | 14 | 50 | Faultline (1125, -27, 1296) | If you go south for a while on the far western edge of the map, you will eventually hit the Dark Canyons map marker. Go another 500 yards south from there. You should see a building to your left in relatively good shape. The badge is in front of the doors. |
Now we'll make a bit of a trek, though it's fairly simple (just be careful of the Vahzilok and Clockwork). Return to the entrance, and follow the northern wall all the way to the east. Continue to follow it south until you reach the next history plaque.
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
Just Said No to Superadine (Part 5 of 5) | History | 14 | 50 | Faultline (-903, 17, -1982) | This plaque is 325 yards east of the Downfall map marker. It is on the far eastern side of the map, so the easiest way to get it is to start at the entrance, go east to the wall, and follow it south. The plaque faces south, so you'll have to look behind you to find it. |
So far this has actually been pretty simple, presuming you haven't had any problems with the natives. But now it's going to get a little tougher. From the history plaque, continue south for a while until you see the dam on your right. What you need to do is work your way down into the water in front of the dam. One option is to just jump for it. It's a long way down, but you won't die, as long as you are careful not to jump into a pack of Circle of Thorns. However you get there, once you're in the water, go south until you just come out. You should be standing on the badge marker.
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
| Undammed | Exploration | 14 | 50 | Faultline (-77, -893, 1686) | This is only 75 yards southwest of the Reservour map marker, just out of the water. |
4 down, you're halfway there. Now there are a series of badges which are all in the same general area. Getting there can be a little tricky, espeically with all the CoTs hanging around. Run north across the water until a ledge blocks your path. On the left side is a rock you can use to gain access to the top of the ledge. Run directly north unitl you see a wrecked kiosk (you should be roughly 150 yards north of the Resevoir map marker). About 10 yards to the west of the broken kiosk will be the plaque.
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
Disciple (Part 6 of 7) | History | 14 | 50 | Faultline (135, -867, 1015) | Travel north from the Reservoir marker about 150 yards. You should see a wrecked kiosk. Look to the west to find the plaque. |
From the plaque, look north and up. You will see two buildings which look like they are leaning into each other. The one you want is the one on the right, which is closest to you. The easiest way to get onto this island is to go directly east (past the broken kiosk) until you see another canyon heading north. Following this canyon, the building your after will be on your left. Just as you get past it, you should see three half buried cars. At the third car, look to your left, and you will see a ledge you can run up, which will gain you a bit of elevation. The cliff wall here is shallow enough that you can now jump/run up it all the way to the building. The plaque should be practically right in front of you (it's on the north side of the building, to the east of the pile of rubble.
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
Scholar (Part 5 of 5) | History | 14 | 50 | Faultline (-21, -577, 359) | This is 400 yards due north of the Reservoir marker, on the north side of a building (which is slanting to the south). |
From here, the next plaque is pretty easy. From the last plaque, walk north to the edge of the cliff and look north. Slightly to your right, you should see a canyon going north, with a couple of brick walls (with gate like openings). Jump down and head through those gates. After passing through the second gate, turn around, and there is the plaque.
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
Disciple (Part 7 of 7) | History | 14 | 50 | Faultline (-74, -612, -15) | From the Scholor plaque, look north. There is a canyon in front of you. Drop into this canyon and head north through a couple of brick wall gates. The plaque is facing north just behind one of the brick walls. |
There is only one more badge to get in Faultline, but it's a tricky one. Make your way east toward the Precipice map marker (watch out for the Circle of Thorns). I found the easiest way to do this was to follow the crevice you start in to the north, then go east when it splits east-west (not very far from where you start). From there, you just keep following it as it takes you east and upward. Although the badge marker is at the bottom of a crevice, from your last location, you actually have to gain a bit of elevation. Just keep working your way up and east, and you should be able to get there.
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
| Faultless Mystic | Exploration | 14 | 50 | Faultline (-844, -407, -715) | As you can tell from the second location coordinate, this one is way down at the bottom of a crevice. You're only about 175 yards from the Precipice map marker, but a lot of it is straight down. Getting down to the badge is easy, getting back up is the hard part. Follow the crevice, making your way up (you'll probably have to fight, run, or sneak your way past a lot of Circle of Thorns), and you'll eventually make it back up to street level. |
Congratulations! If you got all 8 badges, you just got 8 of the most difficult History/Exploration badges in the game. All that's left is to work your way out of the canyon and back to the exit. From the final badge marker, make your way east and up to the far eastern wall. From there, you shouldn't have any problem getting back to the exit.
Around level 14, you have another mission badge to start looking for.
| Name | Catagory | Min Level | Max Level | Location | Notes |
| Plague Stopper | Accomplishment | 14 | 19 | Mission | This is a mission based badge. If you steer your missions toward the Vahzilok, you should come across this one. It's a timed mission where you have 75 minutes to destroy 3 plague containers. |
71 badges now, and you're only level 15! However, we're going to slow down for a bit in the next section, levels 16-20.
